How is an incense crafted?

First, every ingredient that goes into our incense is sourced in the country that produces the best quality: bamboo rods come from China, wood shavings and Guar gum are from India, Jiget powder is from Vietnam, and fragrances come from Grasse, in France.

Next, thousands of bundles of bamboo rods are received and cut to our desired size (34 cm). Then, wood shavings are machine-sieved, producing a flawless fine powder.

Mixing comes next. This stage involves adding all the ingredients to the powder and blending it together with guar gum, which binds everything together. Next, the paste is left to dry, and put through an extruder machine, which produces a fine, light, flawless powder.

Bamboo rods are dipped into water, then mixed to the powder. Together, the water and guar gum, a natural resin, “set” the ingredients onto the bamboo rod. The sticks then go through the extruder again, to ensure that no impurities remain.

Thousands of sticks are then manually dropped onto stacked boards, and stored in the open air for a first 24-hour drying stage. Our incense partner procures French fragrances from our Grasse perfumer. Incense sticks and cones are then dipped into a fragrance. Once they have been scented, the sticks are once again left to dry naturally in the open air for 24 hours.

Inspection is the crucial final step. This stage is essential to the quality of our incense. Each batch is meticulously controlled by a specialist, who checks that the sticks are dry using a device which measures humidity levels. This helps determine whether the sticks are in compliance and ready to burn. Finally, burning times are also controlled. Our incense sticks have a burning time of approximately an hour and a half, while cones will burn for 45 minutes. Regardless of how you extinguish your incense, be sure to follow the following precautions to avoid the risk of accidents: never leave a lit incense stick unattended; make sure your incense is well extinguished before discarding the stick, as a glowing tip can start a fire; always place your incense on a flat surface, away from flammable materials (such as curtains or tablecloths, for example), and keep children and pets far from lit incense.

    J’aimerai comprendre quelle est la différence entre les bâtons d’encens en vrac vendus par sachets de 10, et les pochettes de 10batons qui sont réduits à -30%?
